TEXT 1

 

                                        Çré-Çré-navadvépa-para-pradépaù

                                               sandépyamänah satato bhuvéha

                                       cetas-tamo hanti hi yasya yatnän

                                               namämi taà Çré-prabhupädadevam

     

      Çré Çré—most glorious; navadvépa—of Navadvipa; para—transcendental; pradépaù—lamp; sandépyamänaù—brilliantly blazing; satataù—eternal; bhuvi—in the world; iha—here; cetaù—of the heart; tamaù—the darkness of ignorance; hanti—destroys; hi—indeed; yasya—of whom; yatnät—because of the endeavor; namämi—I offer my respectful obeisances; tam—to him; Çré-prabhupädadevam—Çréla Prabhupäda.

 

      I offer my respectful obeisances unto His Divine Grace A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupäda. Because of his efforts, the eternal, brilliant lamp of Navadvépa (Çré Caitanya Mahäprabhu) is now destroying the darkness of ignorance within the hearts of the living entities in this world.

 

TEXT 2

 

                                     Çré-bhaktisiddhänta-pracoditaù Çré-

                                             vyäsädya-koçaà kuçalaà kåpäluù

                                     san mleccha-väg-deça-caye ’dadhad yas

                                             namämi taà Çré-prabhupädadevam

 

      Çré-bhaktisiddhänta—by Çré Çrémad Bhaktisiddhänta Sarasvaté öhäkura Prabhupäda; procoditaù—ordered; Çré-vyäsa-ädya—(written) by Vyäsa and others; koçam—the treasure house (of scriptures); kuçalam—auspicious; kåpäluù—merciful; san—being so; mleccha-väk—of degraded languages; deça-caye—in countries; adadhat—placed; yah—who.

 

I offer my respectful obeisances unto His Divine Grace A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupäda. Being especially ordered by Çré Çrémad Bhaktisiddhänta Sarasvaté öhäkura, and being very merciful, he placed in the Western countries, where English and other such degraded languages are spoken, the auspicious treasure house of devotional literature written by Çréla Vyäsadeva, Çréla Kåñëadäsa Kaviräja, and others.

 

TEXT 3

 

                                   äcchadyate yat-para-tarka-dåçya-

                                           govinda-mùrty-ujjvala-bhaskareëa

                                   advaiti-khadyota-kulaà jagatyäà

                                           namämi taà Çré-prabhupädadevam

 

      äcchadyate—is overshadowed; yat—of whom; para—transcendental; tarka—because of the logic; dåçya—visible; govinda—of Lord Govinda; mùrti—the transcendental form; ujjvala—splendid; bhaskareëa—by the sun; advaiti—impersonalist philosophers; khadyota—glowworms; kulam—multitude; jagatyäm—in the world.

 

      I offer my respectful obeisances unto His Divine Grace A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupäda. Because of his expert logic, the brilliant sun of Lord govinda’s transcendental form is now illuminating this world and completely eclipsing the insignificant glowworms of the impersonalists.

 

TEXT 4

 

                                      yasyaiva yatnena puräëa-räja-

                                             gaìgämalä keçava-keli-haàsä

                                      sat-stotra-ratnä vahatéha loke

                                             namämi taà Çré-prabhupädadevam

 

      yasya—of whom; eva—indeed; yatnena—by the endeavor; puräëa-räja—the king of puräëas (Çrémad-Bhägavatam); gaìgä—the Ganges River; amalä—pure and crystal clear; keçava—of Lord Keçava; keli—the pastimes; haàsä—with swans; sat—of the pure devotees; stotra—of prayers; ratnä—jewels; vahati—flows; iha—here; loke—in this world.

 

      I offer my respectful obeisances unto His Divine Grace A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupäda. Because of his efforts, the pure and crystal-clear Ganges River of the Çrémad-Bhägavatam, the king of puräëas, is now flowing all over the world. The pebbles in that river are the jewels of the pure devotees’ prayers, and playing within its waters are the swans of Lord Keçava’s pastimes.

 

TEXT 5

 

                                     Çré-rädhikä-kåñëa-padäravinde

                                              sahasra-håtsu çata-mandireñu

                                    aropayad yo madhure påthivyäà

                                              namämi taà Çré-prabhupädadevam

 

      Çré-rädhikä-kåñëa—of Çré Çré Rädhä and Kåñëa; pada—feet; aravinde—two lotus flowers; sahasra—thousands; håtsu—in hearts; çata—a hundred; mandireñu—in temples; aropayat—planted; yaù—who; madhure—charming; påthivyäm—in this world.

 

I offer my respectful obeisances unto His Divine Grace A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupäda, who planted the charming lotus feet of Çré Çré Rädhä and Kåñëa in hundreds of temples and thousands of hearts throughout this world.

 

TEXT 6

 

                                       kauçalyadair yasya sahasra-çästra-

                                             çasträtivarñaiù pratihanyate hi

                                        caëòä kaler moha-camùr haöhena

                                             namämi taà Çré-prabhupädadevam

 

      kauçalyadaiù—granting auspiciousness; yasya—of whom; sahasra—thousands; çästra—of books; çastra—of weapons; ati—great; varñaiù—with showers; pratihanyate—is destroyed; hi—certainly; caëòä—fierce; kaleù—of the Age of Kali; moha—of the illusions; camùù—the army; haöhena—violently.

 

I offer my respectful obeisances unto His Divine Grace A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupäda. Showering thousands of arrows, which are his books, he has violently destroyed the fierce army of illusions presented by the Age of Kali.

 

TEXT 7

 

                                          nänä-lasad-gaura-sudhä-prakäça-

                                              phalaù kñitau sthäpita eva yena

                                          kåñëänucintä-jana-saìgha-våkñas

                                              namämi taà Çré-prabhupädadevam

 

      nänä—various; lasat—splendid; gaura—of Lord Caitanya; sudhä—the nectar; prakäça—manifestation; phalaù—with fruits; kñitau—on the earth; sthäpitaù—established; eva—certainly; yena—by whom; kåñëa-anucintä-jana-saìgha—the International Society for Krishna Consciousness; våkñaù—the transcendental desire tree.

 

I offer my respectful obeisances unto His Divine Grace A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupäda. Upon this earth he has planted the desire tree of the International Society for Krishna Consciousness, whose many splendid fruits are the many different methods of distributing the nectarean message of Çré Caitanya Mahäprabhu.

                                      yo nityadä jévati daivikéñu

                                           nijäsu çikñäsu sahänugämi

                                      kåpämbudhir nanda-sutäçritätmä

                                           namämi taà Çré-prabhupädadevam

 

      yaù—who; nityadä—eternally; jévati—lives; daivikéñu—divine; nijäsu—own; çikñäsu—in the instructions; saha—accompanied by; anugämé—his sincer follwers; kåpä—of mercy; ambudhiù—like and ocean; nanda—of Nanda Mahäräja; suta—of the transcendental son; äçrita—completely taken shelter; ätmä—with his body, mind, words, and self.

 

I offer my respectful obeisances unto His Divine Grace A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupäda, who is like and ocean of mercy, and who has completely taken shelter of Lord Kåñëa, the transcendental son of Nanda Mahäräja, with his body, mind, words, and self. Çréla Prabhupäda lives forever by his divine instructions, and his sincere followers live with him.
