     sri-gauracandrasya - of Lord Caitanya;  krpamayasya - merciful; siksam - teaching;  parananda - transcendental bliss; pradam - giving;  param - great; tu - indeed; pascatya-desaya - to the esetern  countries; tu - indeed; siksayantam - teaching;  namami - I bou down; aham - I; sri-prabhupadadevam - to His  Divine Grace A C Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada.

 

 

     I offer my respectful obeisances to my spiritual master His  Divine Grace A C Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada who brought  the message of Lord Caitanya to the western world.

     I offer my respectful obeisances to my spiritual master His  Divine Grace A C Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada whose example  of pure devotion to Lord Krsna and hard worë in Lord Krsna's  service is the path we follow even though because we are only  children we stumble again and again.

     sarvam - entire; visvam - world; puritam - flooded;   svatma-nama - of His own name; madhurya - of sweetness;   aughaih - with the flood; yena - by whom; tam - to  Him; divya-kirtim - transcendental glory; sri- krsnantar-atmakam - Sri Krsna within; gaura - fair;  murtim - form; sri-caitanyam - to Lord Caitanya; vanda - I  bou down; isam - the Supreme Personality of Godhead;  prasantam - saintly.

 

 

     I offer my respectful obeisances to Lord Caitanya  Mahaprabhu who is Lord Krsna Himself and who flooded the worlds  with the nectar of His own holy name.

     hare krsna rama - the maha‘-mantra; iti - thus;  sodasakam - of sixteen; namnam - names; adadat - gave;   danam - give; uttamam - transcendental; visva - of  universes; vrndaya - to the host; yah - who;  tasmai - to Him; sri-gauraya - Lord Caitanya; namo  namah - obiesances.

 

 

     I offer my respectful obeisances to Lord Caitanya  Mahaprabhu who is Lord Krsna Himself and who gave the world the  supreme gift that is the words Hare Krsna Hare Krsna Krsna Krsna  Hare Hare Hare Rama Hare Rama Rama Rama Hare Hare.

     vrajesa-putram - to the son of Vraja's king anmd queen;  bhuvanadhidevam - to the master of the world; sri-radhika- vallabham - dear to Sri Radha; isvaresam - trhe controller;   gopi-priyam - dear to the gopis; gopa-sakham - the friend of  the gopas; sudhabdhim - an ocean of nectar; sri- krsnacandram - to Sri Krsna; pranamami - I bow;  nityam - again and again.

 

 

     Again and again I offer my respectful obeisances to Lord  Krsna the master of the worlds the son of Nanda and Yasoda the  friend of the gopas an ocean of nectar and the lover of Sri  Radha‘ and the gopis.

goloka-natha surabhi-paripalanedya sri-nanda-putra vrsabhanu-suta-priyeti

namani man-matim aho paripurayantu

 

     gopi-priya - the beloved of the gopis; isa - the Supreme  Personality of Godhead; vraja-gopa-sakha - the freind of the  vraja-gopas; amrta - of nectar; abdhe - an ocean;  goloka-natha - the master of Goloka; surabhi-paripalana - the  protector of the surabhi cows; idya - the supreme object of  worship; sri-nanda-putra - the son of Nanda;  vrsabhanu-suta - of the daughter of King Vrsabhanu; priya - the  beloved; iti - thus; namani - names; man-matim - my  mind; aho - Oh; paripurayantu - may flood.

 

 

     Lord Krsna is the beloved of the gopis the Supreme  Personality of Godhead the friend of the gopas an ocean of  nectar the master of Goloka the protector of the cows the  supreme object of worship the son of Nanda and the beloved of  Radha May these names of Lord Krsna fill my thoughts.

madhura-madhura-madhuryah mama manasi kada plavah

param ahaha karisyanti

 

     vraja-pati-suta - of the son of Vraja's king;  padabja - lotus feet; madhura-madhura-madhuryah - the intense  sweetness; mama - of me; manasi - in the mind;  kada - when?; plavah - flood; param - greatly;  ahaha - aha!; karisyanti - will do.

 

 

     When will the sweetness of Lord Krsna's lotus feet flood my  thoughts?

vraja-pati-suta-sankirti-

madhura-madhura-kallolah jvara-manasi kada sitam

param ahaha karisyanti

 

     vraja-pati-suta - of the son of Vraja's king; sankirti - of  thr glories; madhura-madhura-kallolah - the waves of  sweetness; jvara - feverish; manasi - in the mind;  kada - when?; sitam - coolness; param - then;  ahaha - aha!; karisyanti - will do.

 

 

     When will the nectar waves of Lord Krsna's glories cool the  fever of my burning heart?

 vastö-isvarah„ santi jagatsu ke kim

 

     sri-kesava - of Lord Krsna; alingana - embrace;  vastu - valuable item; tulya - equal;  vastö-isvarah - the  kings of valuable things; santi - are; jagatsu - in the  universes; ke - which?; kim - whenther?; sri- nanda-putra - of Nanda's son; smita - the smile;  vastu - valuable item; tulya - equal; vastö-isvarah - the  kings of valuable items; santi - are; jagatsu - in the  universes; ke - which?; kim - whether?.

 

 

     What shall I give for Lord Krsna's smile or for His embrace¿  Hou many piles of the worthless things of this world shall I put  on the scale against Krsna's smile?

dhasyami kim- krsna-pade lalatam

netrasru-gandah„ pranayakulo 'ham kim- dhasyati sri-vraja-raja-putro

tad-bahu-yugme ruditam- kada mam

 

     dhasyami - I will place; kim - whether?; krsna- pade - at Lord Krsna's feet; lalatam - forehead;  netra - eyes; asru - tears; gandah - cheeks;  pranayakulah - overwhelmed with love; aham - I;  kim - whether?; dhasyati - will place; sri-vraja-raja - of  the king of Vraja; putrah - the son; tad-bahu-yugme - in  His two arms; ruditam - weeping; kada - when?;  mam - me.

 

 

     When tears streaming down my cheeks will I touch my  forehead to Lord Krsna's lotus feet¿ When will Krsna picë me up  and hold sobbing me in His arms?

     katisu - in hou many?; janmasu - births; kesava- duratah - far from Lord Krsna; tv - indeed; aham - I;  atistham - stayed; aho - Oh; bhava-sagare - in the ocean of  repeated birth and death; smrtih - memory; aho - Oh;   mama - of me; na - bot; asti - is; vrajesvara - of  the master of Vraja; karuna - mercy; vrnda-kulat - from  the abundance; paramat - supreme; param;  - supreme; yadi - if; mama - of me;  smrtih - memory; asti - is; hi - indeed; janmasu - in  births; ha - Oh; ha - Oh!; tada - them;  vilapami - I lament; muhuh - again; muhuh - and again;   yadi - if; mama - of me; smrtih - momory;  asti - is; hi - indeed; sonitam - red with blood;  urasam - chest; adya - now; hi - indeed; tadaya - I  would beat; eva - indeed; hi - indeed.

 

 

     Hou many lifetimes have I stayed here exiled from Lord  Krsna's lotus feet¿ It is Lord Krsna's kindness that I do not  remember If I remembered at this moment I would scream again and  again I would beat my chest until I bled.

katiha janmani vrtha mamaiva

katiha janmani vrthaksipam- hi janmaikam adyaiva samarpayami

sri-nanda-rajatmaja-pada-padme

 

     kati - hou many; iha - here; janmani - birth;  vrtha - uselessly; mama - of me; eva - indeed;  kati - hou many?; iha - here; janmani - births;  vrtha - uselessly; aksipam - I threu away; hi - indeed;   janma - birth; ekam - one; adya - noe;  eva - indeed; samarpayami - I offer; sri-nanda-rajatmaja- pada-padme - to the lotus feet of Nanda's son.

 

 

     Hou many lifetimes have I wasted¿ Hou many lifetimes have I  thrown away¿ I will take this lifetime this one lifetime and  give it to Lord Krsna's lotus feet.

     O Lord Krsna please take this one lifetime that I offer I  do not have anything else to offer You

     O Lord Krsna please give power to my words Give them the  power that whoever reads them will fall in love with You.

     puspam - flower; adya - today; tulasi- supatrakam - tulasi leaf; sat - nice; phalam - fruit;  ca - and; jalam - water; arpayami - offer; aham - I;   tvat-padambuja-yuge - at Yoru lotus feet; vrajesvara - O king  of Vraja; adehi - please accept; krsna - O Lord  Krsna; karuna-nidhe - O ocean of mercy; hare - O Lord  Krsna.

 

 

     O Lord Krsna at Your feet I place a tulasi leaf a flower  a fruit and a cup of water Please please accept them

yadyapy aho janapadah„ srnute na loke

sri-krsna-kirtanam aho prakarosi nityam kim- kim- kim artham iti pratyuttaram- karomi

bhito 'smy aho janapadah„ srnuyat tad eva

 

     yadyapi - although; aho - Oh; janapadah - the  people; srnute - hear; na - not; loke - in the  world; sri-krsna - of Lord Krsna; kirtanam - the  glories; aho - Oh; prakarosi - I do;  nityam - always; kim - why?; kim artham - why?;  iti - thus; pratyuttaram - reply; karomi - I do;  bhitah - frightened; asmi - I am; aho - Oh;  janapadah - the people; srnuyat - must hear; tat - that;   eva - certainly.

 

 

     Why do I recite Lord Krsna's glories again and again even  though no one will stop to listen¿ Fear pushes me It is very  important that the people hear They must hear

samsrtim- tyajadya krsna-pada-pankajam- vrajety

evam eva sarva-loka-prarthanam- karomy aham krsna-krtya-sarva-jiva-mukti-datr„-saktiman

nasmi janma-mrtyu-nasa-saktiman yato 'smi na

 

     samsrtim - the material world; tyaja - abandon;  adya - today; krsna-pada-pankajam - Lord Krsna's lotus feet;   vraja - go; iti - thus; evam - in this way;  eva - indeed; sarva-loka-prarthanam - an appealm to all the  worlds; karomi - do; aham - I; krsna - by Lord  Krsna; krtya - to be done; sarva - all; jiva - living  entities; mukti - liberation; datr - the giver;  saktiman - having the power; na - not; asmi - asmi;  janma-mrtyu-nasa - the end of repeated birth and death;  saktiman - having the power; yatah - because; asmi - I  am; na - not.

 

 

     I cannot convince Lord Krsna to close down the entire  material world and force everyone to return to Him That is why I  run here and there and beg everyone Please leave this  place and go to Krsna's feet."

vacanesu jadya-visva-nirgunatva-darsinim svatma-nitya-nutna-divya-kanti-drsti-karinim

     visva-loka - the people of the material world; krsna - to  Lord Krsna; bhakti - devotion; dana - gift;  yatnakasya - struggling; me - of me; vacanesu - in the  words; jadya - of dull matter; visva - of the  universe; nirgunatva - worthlessness;  darsinim - showing; svatma - own; nitya-nutna - eternally  new; divya-kanti - transcendental splendor;  drsti - sight; karinim - giving; srila-srila-madhavah - Sri  Krsna; arpayatv - may place; aho - ah; sva- mistatam - His own sweetness.

 

 

     I try again and again Again and again my preaching is a  failure I keep trying Perhaps Lord Krsna will take pity on me  place His own sweetness on my words and make the people see hou  beautiful He is and hou worthless is this world of dull and  lifeless things.

krinani mulyena hi kena pida-

lokad vimuktim- hari-madhurim- ca karsna vadantiha paralpa-mulyam

sraddhalur asmiha na naiva naiva

 

     krinani - I may purchase; mulyena - with the prcie;  hi - indeed; kena - what?; pida - of torment;  lokat - from the world; vimuktim - freedom; hari - of Lord  Krsna; madhurim - sweetness; ca - and; karsna - the  devotees of Lord Krsna; vadanti - say; iha - here;  paralpa-mulyam - very small price; sraddhaluh - believing;   asmi - I am; iha - in that; na - no; na - no;  eva - indeed; na - now; eva - indeed.

 

 

     What is the price to leave this place of tortures and stay  at Krsna's nectar lotus feet¿ The Vaisnavas quoted me a very lou  price I do not believe them Hou can it be?

draksyami goloka-pate kada tvam

gopi-pate gopa-pate patisa utkanthate me hrdayam- sadaiva

tvad-darsanayamita-sundaraya

 

     draksyami - I will see; goloka-pate - O master of  Goloka; kada - when?; tvam - You; gopi-pate - O  master of the gopis; gopa-pate - O master of the gopas;   patisa - O master of all masters; utkanthate - yearns;  me - of Me; hrdayam - the heart; sada - always;  eva - indeed; tvad-darsanaya - the sight of You;  amita - limitless; sundaraya - handsome.

 

 

     O Krsna O master of Goloka O master of the gopis O master  of the gopas O master of the demigods when will I see You¿ My  heart aches to see Your splendid transcendental form.

mulyam- vina dadati te

svatmanam adya madhavah adehi loka tam- harim

adehi loka tam- harim

 

     mulyam - price; vina - without; dadati - gives;  te - to you; svatmanam - Himself; adya - today;  madhavah - Lord Krsna; adehi - please accept; loka - O  people; tam - Him; harim - Lord Krsna.

 

 

     O people Lord Krsna is giving Himself to you for free¡ For  free¡ Please please accept Him.

krinithah„ parama-mulyaih

kim- vastu sparsana-vinastam ma krinita tad anartham

adaddhvam- vrajavanesam

 

     krinithah - you purchase; parama-mulyaih - with a great  price; kim - what?; vastu - thing; sparsana - by a  touch; vinastam - destroyed; ma - don't;  krinita - buy; tat - that; anartham - worthless;  adaddhvam - accept; vrajavana - of Vraja forest; isam - the  king.

 

 

     Why do you pay so much money for the things of this world  things that wilt the moment you touch them¿ Don't pay Turn from  them and take Lord Krsna for free.

purve yuge mulya-paro hi krsnah

kalau harir mulya-vihina eva adehi krsnam- pranayena krsno

mulyam- vinatmanam aho dadati

 

     purve - in the previous; yuge - yuga; mulya-parah - a  great price; hi - indeed; krsnah - Lord Krsna;  kalau - in Kali-yuga; harih - Lord Krsna; mulya- vihinah - without any price; eva - indeed;  adehi - accept; krsnam - Lord Krsna; pranayena - with  love; krsnah - Lord Krsna; mulyam - price;  vina - without; atmanam - Himself; aho - Oh;  dadati - gives.

 

 

     O people in the previous yugas Lord Krsna was very  expensive but in this Kali-yuga He is yours for no charge  Please take Him He will give Himself to you if you accept Him  with love.

nrtyamah„ kim- pattane marga-vrnde

gayamah„ kim- krsna-namani nityam kicit mrgyam- vastu yusmabhir eva

tulyam- naste vastuna tad dhi dadmah

 

     nrtyamah - we dance; kim - why?; pattane - in the  city; marga-vrnde - in the many streets; gayamah - we  sing; kim - why?; krsna - of Lord Krsna; namani - the  names; nityam - again and again; ki cit - something; mrgyam - to be sought;  vastu - thing; yusmabhih - by you; eva - indeed;  tulyam - qgual; na - not; aste - is; vastuna - with the  thing; tat - that; hi - indeed; dadmah - we give.

 

 

     Why do we dance by the busy streets and chant Lord Krsna's  name¿ Whatever you seeë as you run here and there it is not a  millionth part as precious as what we nou give to you for free

krsna-nama vara-ramyam eva hity

evam eva vadatiha ko 'pi yah uttaram- vadati prasna-prasnake

koti-vatsara-kavisa-mohane

 

     krsna-nama - Lord Krsna's name; vara-ramyam - very  beautiful; eva - indeed; hi - certainly;  iti - thus; evam - in this way; eva - indeed;  vadati - says; iha - here; ko 'pi - someone;  yah - he; uttaram - answer; vadati - gives; prasna- prasnake - to the question of questions; koti - millions;  vatsara - of years; kavisa - the kings of philosophers;  mohane - bewildering.

 

 

     The singing of Krsna's name is very pleasant.¢ The  person who thinks this has solved the enigma that has baffled all  the philosophers for millions of years.

kim- krsna-mantram- nagaresu gitam

yusmabhir ity eva hi prasna-rajah visvesvaresah„ kila tisthatiha

tvan-melanecchas tö iti suttaresah

 

     kim - what; krsna-mantram - teh Hare Krsna mantra;  nagaresu - in the cities; gitam - sung; yusmabhih - by  you; iti - thus; eva - indeed; hi - indeed;  prasna-rajah - the king of questions; visvesvaresah - the master  of the masters of the universes; kila - indeed;  tisthati - stands; iha - here; tvan-melana - meeting  you; icchah - wishing; tv - indeed; iti - thus;   suttaresah - the king of answers.

 

 

     You heard us chant the Hare Krsna mantra by the busy city  street¿ You do not knou what the mantra means¿ I know I can tell  you It means The Supreme Personality of Godhead has  come to meet you At this moment He stands before you."

sruyate ha ha ha krsna-nama hi

visva-loka-nikhilena sarvatah kim- mahattvam iha mitra kim- gunam

tan-mahattva-paramam- tö anantakam

 

     sruyate - hear; ha - POh; ha - Oh; ha - Oh;  krsna-nama - the holy name of Lord Krsna; hi - indeed;  visva-loka-nikhilena - all the people of the world;  sarvatah - in all respects; kim - what?;  mahattvam - importance; iha - here; mitra - O friend;  kim - what?; gunam - virtue; tan-mahattva - importance of  that; paramam - great; tv - indeed;  anantakam - limitless.

 

 

     Every person on the earth has nou heard the name Krsna Hou  important is that¿ O friend it is very very important.

krsna-nama paripalako 'sti me

jata eva katham adya visvake krsna-nama paripatu mam- muhur

apad-avalisu satrubhir vrtam

 

     krsna-nama - Lord Krsna's name; paripalako' - the  protector; asti - is; me - of me; j ata - known; eva - indeed; katham - how?;  adya - today; visvake - in the world; krsna-nama - Lord  Krsna;s name; paripatu - proetcts; mam - me;   muhuh - again and again; apad-avalisu - in a host of  calamities; satrubhih - by enemies; vrtam - surrounded.

 

 

     The name of Krsna is my protector Hou do I know¿ He has  already saved me from a host of terrible calamities.

krsnarpitaniha phalani santu

svaduni divyani kim artham eva tvad-vakya-vrndam- prakaroti prasna-

rajam- rahasyottama-rajakarham

 

     krsna - to Lord Krsna; arpitani - offered;  iha - here; phalani - fruits; santu - are;  svaduni - sweet; divyani - splendid; kim - what?;  artham - reason; eva - indeed; tvad-vakya-vrndam - your  words; prakaroti - do; prasna - of questions;  rajam - the king; rahasyottama-rajakarham - worthy of the king  of replies.

 

 

     The fruits offered to Lord Krsna are so sweet¡ Why is that¿  O my friend your words have formed the king of all questions  words that have the king of secrets as their only reply.

na na na na na na vagmi srila-mantresvaresam

yadi tam ahahaha vagmi tvam- tö aho tam- pravaksi janapada-nikhilebhyah„ te ca tam- kirtayitva

parama-parama-rajyam- svadu yasyanti muktah

 

     na - not; vagmi - I speak; srila-mantresvaresam - the  king of mantras; yadi - if; tam - that;  ahahaha - aha; vagmi - I speak; tvam - to you;  tv - indeed; aho - Oh; tam - that; pravaksi - you  tell; janapada-nikhilebhyah - to everyone; te - they;   ca - and; tam - that; kirtayitva - spekaing;  parama-parama-rajyam - the transcendental kingdom;  svadu - sweet; yasyanti - will go muktah - free of the world of  birth and death.

 

 

     No No No It is a secret I cannot tell If I told you  you would tell the others they would all chant it and by  chanting it they would all leave this place and go to the  spiritual world Then there would be no one left in the material  world and the material world would cease to exist And it would  all be my fault.

stotrena krsnaya samarpayami tasyaiva mulyam- kim idam- ka eva

prasne param- suttarakam- dadati

 

     ekam - one; rasalam - mango; su-jalena - with  water; mrstam - washed; stotrena - with prayers;  krsnaya - to Lord Krsna; samarpayami - I offer; tasya - of  that; eva - indeed; mulyam - the price;  kim - what?; idam - this; kah - who; eva - indeed;   prasne - in the question; param - great; suttarakam - the  best of answers; dadati - gives.

 

 

     I take a mango I rinse it with water I place it before  Lord Krsna's lotus feet I bou down and recite prayers begging  that He accept it Nou the question is what is the value of this  mango¿ O students who can answer?

ma vadadya nayanambujam- harim

naiva pasyasi kadapi sundaram tvam- na krsna-viraho 'si na ksanam

tvam- na krsna-viraho 'si na ksanam

 

     ma - don't; vada - say; adya - today;  nayanambujam - lotus eyes; harim - Lord Krsna; na - not;   eva - indeed; pasyasi - you see; kadapi - ever;  sundaram - handsome; tvam - you; na - not; krsna- virahah - separated from Lord Krsna; asi - are;  na - not; ksanam - for a moment.

 

 

     Please do not say that you have never met handsome lotus- eyed Lord Krsna You have never been away from Him for even a  moment.

krsna eva para-corakesvarah

gopika-hrdaya-corako 'sti sah gopa-sad-dhrdaya-corako 'sti va

adya mad-dhrdaya-corakestakah

 

     krsnah - Lord Krsna; eva - indeed; para- corakesvarah - the king of thieves; gopika-hrdaya-corakah - the  thief of the gopis§ hearts; asti - is; sah - He;  gopa-sad-dhrdaya-corakah - the thief of the gopas hearts;  asti - is; vai - indeed; adya - now; mad-dhrdaya - my  heart; coraka - the thief; istakah - wishing.

 

 

     Lord Krsna is a thief He is not content to steal the hearts  of the vraja-gopas the gopis and the great devotees Nou He  wants to steal my heart

guptam- hi purvesu yugesö aho yat

spastam- hi tad vai tö adhuna sadaiva kalau rahasyam- tad ihaiva bhakta

sankirtayanti nagaresu pathsu

 

     guptam - hidden; hi - indeed; purvesu - in the  previous; yugesv - yugas; aho - aha; yat - what;   spastam - clearly manifested; hi - indeed;  tat - that; vai - indeed; tv - certainly;  adhuna - now; sada - always; eva - indeed; kalau - in  Kali0yuga; rahasyam - secret; tat - that;  iha - here; eva - indeed; bhakta - the devotees;  sankirtayanti - proclaim; nagaresu - in the cities;  pathsu - on the streets.

 

 

     The secret that was carefully hidden from even the great  sages in the previous yugas is openly declared in Kali-yuga The  devotees go to the busy city streets and tell it to everyone.

vayam api katham evam- kurmahe sat-tapasyam

vayam api katham evam- kurmahe veda-patham vayam api katham evam- kurmahe yoga-karma

hari-pranayam ihaivam- kurmahe nama-kirtya

 

     vayam - we; api - also; katham - how?;  evam - thus; kurmahe - do; sat-tapasyam - great  austerities; vayam - we; api - also;  katham - how; evam - thus; kurmahe - do; veda- patham - the study of the Vedas; vayam - we; api - also;   katham - how?; evam - thus; kurmahe - do; yoga- karma - yoga; hari-pranayam - love for Lord Krsna;  iha - here; evam - thus; kurmahe - we do; nama- kirtya - by chanting His names.

 

 

     Hou can we perform great austerities¿ Hou can we practice  yoga¿ Hou can we study Vedanta¿ All we can do is love Krsna chant  His name.

 

 

Text 3· 

 

 

kama-kopa-papa-mukti-kami

saktiman aham- tö ihasmi naiva tvat-padaravindake pranamya

muca mam itiha prarthaye 'ham

 

     kama - lust; kopa - anger; papa - sin;  mukti - freedom; kami - desiring; saktiman - powerful;   aham - I; tv - indeed; iha - here; asmi - am;  na - not; eva - indeed; tvat-padaravindake - at Your lotus  feet; pranamya - bowing; muca - please  release; mam - me; iti - thus; iha - here;  prarthaye - I pray; aham - I.

 

 

     I wish to be free of lust and anger but I do not have the  power to free myself O Krsna I fall down at Your feet and beg  Please please make me free.

 

 

Text 3¸ 

 

 

krsna krsna vaisnavanukapmin

krsna krsna sarva-saktiman tvam janma-mrtyu-cakra-ghora-dusta-

svapnakat prabodhayadhuna mam

 

     krsna krsna - O Krsna Krsna; vaisnavanukapmin - kind to the  devotees; sarva-saktiman - all powerful; tvam - You;   janma-mrtyu - of birth and death; cakra - the circle;  ghora - horrible; dusta - bad; svapnakat - dream;  prabodhaya - please awaken; adhuna - now; mam - me.

 

 

     O Krsna please waken me from this nightmare of repeated  birth and death.

ayam- sariro 'smi hi mrtyu-kale

nasto 'smi kartavyam ihendriyesu saukhyam- mayety uktir ihaiva jata

sri-krsna-matsarya-parandhakarat

 

     ayam - this; sarirah - body; asmi - I am;  hi - indeed; mrtyu-kale - at the time of death;  nastah - destroyed; asmi - I am; kartavyam - should be  done; iha - here; indriyesu - in the senses;  saukhyam - happiness; maya - by me; iti - thus;  uktih - words; iha - here; eva - indeed;  jata - born; sri-krsna - of Lord Krsna; matsarya - of  envy; para - great; andhakarat - from the blinding  darkness.

 

 

     I am this body At death I cease to exist At every  moment I must enjoy.¢ These words grou from the darkness of  rebellious souls.

lokam- nayaty eva parandhakaram

 

     ayam - this; sarirah - body; asmi - I am;  hi - indeed; mrtyu-kale - at the time of death;  nastah - destroyed; asmi - I am; kartavyam - should be  done; iha - here; indriyesu - in the senses;  saukhyam - happiness; maya - by me; iti - thus;  uktih - words; ayam - these; gadantam - speaking;  lokam - people; nayati - leads; eva - indeed;  parandhakaram - to blinding darkness.

 

 

     I am this body At death I cease to exist At every  moment I must enjoy.¢ These words lead down to the darkest of  despairs.

parandhakaro gilatiha sarvam

sri-krsna-namojjvala-dipa ekah sandarsayaty eva hi mukti-margam

samsara-cakre vara-mukti-marge

 

     parandhakarah - blinding darkness; gilati - swallows;   iha - here; sarvam - everything; sri-krsna - of Lord  Krsna; nama - the holy name; ujjvala - shining;  dipah - lamp; ekah - one; sandarsayati - reveals; eva  hi mukti-margam- samsara-cakre - in the cycle of repeated birth and  death; vara-mukti-marge - the path out.

 

 

     Nou darkness has swallowed everything Only the light of  Lord Krsna's holy name shows the passage out from the labyrinth  of birth and death.
