Sri-narada uvaca - Sri Narada said; indradi-deva-vrnda - of the demigods headed by Indra; ica - O king; tata - O dear one; icvara - O lord; jagat-pate - O master of the universe; maha-visnoh - of Lord Visnu; nrsimhasya - of Lord Nrsimha; kavacam - the armor; bruhi - please tell; me - to me; prabhah - O master; yasya - of which; prapathanat - from the recitation; vidvan - a wise person; trailokya - of the three worlds; vijayi - a conqueror; bhavet - may become.
Sri Narada said: O master of Indra and the demigods, O master of the universe, O dear father, please tell me the kavaca of Lord Visnu-Nrsimha. By reciting that kavaca a wise man conquers the three worlds.

crnu narada vaksyami
putra-crestha tapo-dhana

Sri-brahma uvaca - Sri Brahma said; srnu - please hear; narada - O Narada; vaksyami - I will tell; putra-crestha - O best son; tapo- dhana - wealthy in austerity; kavacam - the kavaca; narasimhasya - of Lord Nrsimha; trailokya- vijayabhidam - called Trailokya-vijaya.
Sri Brahma said: O Narada wealthy in austerity, O best of my sons, please listen and I will tell you the Nrsimha-kavaca called Trailokya-vijaya (the conquest of the three worlds).

yasya prapathanad vagmi
trailokya-vijayi bhavet
srasthaham jagatam vatsa
pathanad dharanad yatah
yasya - of which; prapathanat - by reciting; vagmi - eloquent; trailokya-vijayi - a conqueror of the three worlds; bhavet - becomes; srastha - the creator; aham - I; jagatam - of the universe; vatsa - O child; pathanat - by reciting; dharanat - by wearing; yatah - because.
By reciting this prayer one becomes eloquent. One becomes a conqueror of the three worlds. My son, I became the creator of this universe because I recited this kavaca and wore it in an amulet.

laksmir jagat-trayam pati
samharta ca mahecvarah
pathanad dhanarad deva
babhuvuc ca dig-icvarah
laksmih - Goddess Laksmi; jagat-trayam - the three worlds; pati - protects; samharta - the destroyer; ca - and; mahecvarah - Lord Siva; pathanat - by reciting; dhanarat - by wearing; devah - the demigods; babhuvuh - became; ca - and; dig-icvarah - the masters of the directions.
By reciting this prayer and wearing it in an amulet Goddess Laksmi became the protector of the three worlds, Lord Siva became the destroyer, and the demigods became the masters of the directions.

brahma-mantra-mayam vaksye
bhutadi-vinivarakam
yasya prasadad durvasas
trailokya-vijayi munih
pathanad dharanad yasya
casta ca krodha-bhairavah
brahma - of the Vedas; mantra - the mantras; mayam - consisting of; vaksye - I will speak; bhuta - ghosts; adi - beginning with; vinivarakam - chasing away; yasya - of which; prasadat - by the mercy; durvasah - Durvasa; trailokya-vijayi - the conqueror of the three worlds; munih - sage; pathanat - by reciting; dharanat - by wearing; yasya - of which; casta - the punisher; ca - and; krodha- bhairavah - fearfully angry.
Now I will speak this kavaca, which contains within it all the mantras of the Vedas. By the mercy of this kavaca Durvasa Muni conquered the three worlds. By reciting this prayer and wearing it in an amulet he became able to punish others, he became feared for his anger.

trailokya - the three worlds; vijayasya - of the conquest; asa - personally; kavacasya - of the kavaca; prajapatih - Brahma; rsih - the sage; chandah - the meter; ca - and; gayatri - Gayatri; nrsimhah - Nrsimha; devata - the Deity; vibhuh - the Supreme Personality
of Godhead.
The sage of this kavaca is Prajapati Brahma. The meter is Gayatri. The Deity is Lord Nrsimha, the all-powerful Personality of Godhead.

mantra-rajah sura-drumah
ksraum - ksraum; bijam - the bij-asyllable; me - of me; cirah - onj the head; patu - may protect; candra-varnah - the color of the moon; maha-manuh - great mantra; ugram - feroicious; viram - powerful; maha- visnum - Maha-Visnu; jvalantam - blazing; sarvato-mukham - with faces everywhere; nrsimham - Lord Nrsimha; bhisanam - frightening; bhadram - auspicious; mrtyu - of death; mrtyum - the death; namami - bow down; aham - I; dva-trimcat - 32; aksarah - syllables; mantrah - mantra; mantra-rajah - the king of mantras; sura-drumah - the desire tree.
Ksraum. May this great mantra, its syllables glittering like a string of moons, protect my head.
I bow down before all-powerful, frightening, auspicious, sublimely ferocious Lord Nrsimha, who is the Supreme Personality of Godhead, Lord Visnu, who burns like fire, whose faces are everywhere, and who is the death of death.
This 32 syllable prayer is the king of mantras, the suradruma tree of mantras.

maline patu mastakam
kantham - neck; patu - may protect; dhruvam - indeed; ksraum - ksraum; hrt - the chest; bhagavate - to the Supreme Personality of Godhead; caksusi - the eyes; mama - of me; narasimhaya - to Lord Nrsimha; ca - and; jvala - flames; maline - galranded; patu - may protect; mastakam - the head.
May the word "ksraum" protect my neck. May the word "bhagavate" (to the Supreme Personality of Godhead) protect my heart. May the word "narasimhaya" (to Lord Nrsimha) protect my eyes. May the word "jvala-maline" (who wears a garland of flames) protect my head.

dipta-damstraya ca tatha-
gni-netraya ca nasikam
sarva-rakso-ghnaya sarva-
bhuta-vinacanaya ca
dipta - glistening; damstraya - teeth; ca - and; tatha - so; agni - fires; netraya - eyes; ca - and; nasikam - nose; sarva - all; raksah - raksasas; ghnaya - killing; sarva - all; bhuta - ghosts; vinacanaya - for destroying; ca - also.
May the words "dipta-damstraya" (whose teeth glisten), "agni-netraya" (whose eyes are fires), {.sy 168}sarva-rakso-ghnaya" (the killer of all raksasas), and sarva-bhuta-vinacanaya" (the killer of all ghosts) protect my nose.

daha daha paca-dvayam
raksa raksa sarva-mantra
svaha patu mukham mama
sarva - all; jvara - fevers; vinacaya - the killer; daha - burn; daha - burn; paca-dvayam - twice "paca"; raksa - protect; raksa - protect; sarva-mantrah - the entire mantra; svaha - svaha; patu - may protect; mukham - face; mama - my.
May the words "sarva-jvara-vinacaya" (the protector from all fevers), "daha daha" (burn! burn!) "paca paca" (burn! burn!) "raksa raksa" (protect! protect!) "svaha" and the entire mantra protect my face.

"I bow down before Lord Nrsimha, the Supreme Personality of Godhead, who wears a garland of flames, whose teeth glisten, whose eyes are fires, who is the killer of all raksasas and ghosts, and who is the protector from all fevers. O Lord Nrsimha, please burn my enemies! Burn them! Burn them! Burn
Them! Protect me! Protect me! Svaha."

tara - Om; adi - beginning with; ramacandraya - to Lord Ramacandra; namah - obeisances; payat - masy protect; gudam - rectum; mama - my; klim - klim; payat - may protect; pani-yugmam - both hands; ca - and; taram - Om; namah - obeisances; padam - feet; tatah - then; narayanaya - to Lord Narayana; parcvam - sides; ca - also; am - am; hrim - hrim; kraum - kraum; ksraum - ksraum; ca - and; hum - hum; phat - phat.
Om Namo Ramacandraya (Obeisances to Lord Ramacandra). May Lord Ramacandra protect my private parts. May Lord Ramacandra protect my hands. Om Namo Narayanaya. (Obeisances to Lord Narayana). May Lord Narayana protect my feet. May Lord Narayana protect my sides. Am hrim kraum ksraum ca hum phat.

varaksarah - Om; katim - waist and hips; patu - may protect; om - Om; namah - obesiances; bhagavate - to the Supreme Personality of Godhead; padam - feet; vasudevaya - to Lord Vasudeva; ca - and; prstham - back; klim - Klim; krsnaya - to Lord Krsna; uru-dvayam - thighs.
Om Namo Bhagavate (Obeisances to the Supreme Personality of Godhead). May Lord Bhagavan protect my feet. May Lord Bhagavan protect my waist and hips. Om Namo Vasudevaya (Obeisances to Lord Vasudeva). May Lord Vasudeva protect my back. Klim Krsnaya (Obeisances to Lord Krsna). May Lord Krsna protect my thighs.

klim krsnaya sada patu
januni ca manuttamah
klim glaum klim cyamalaggaya
namah payat pada-dvayam
klim - Klim; krsnaya - to Lord Krsna; sada - always; patu - may protect; januni - knees; ca - and; manu - of mantras; uttamah - the best; klim - klim; glaum - Glaum; klim - Klim; cyamalaggaya - who has dark limbs; namah - obeisances; payat - may protect; pada-dvayam - two feet.
Klim Krsnaya (Obeisances to Lord Krsna). May Lord Krsna always protect my knees. This is the best of mantras. Klim Glaum Klim Cyamalaggaya Namah (Obeisances to dark-limbed Lord Krsna). May Lord Krsna protect my feet.

ksraum narasimhaya ksraum ca
sarvaggam me sadavatu
ksraum - Ksraum; narasimhaya - to Lord Nrsimha; ksraum - Ksraum; ca - and; sarvaggam - all limbs; me - od me; sada - always; avatu - may protect.
Ksraum Narasimhaya Ksraum. (Obeisances to Lord Nrsimha). May Lord Nrsimha always protect all the limbs and parts of my body.

iti te kathitam vatsa
sarva-mantraugha-vigraham
tava snehan mayakhyatam
pravaktavyam na kasyacit
iti - thus; te - to you; kathitam - spoken; vatsa - O child; sarva- mantraugha-vigraham - the form of all mantras; tava - of you; snehat - because of affection; maya - by me; akhyatam - spoken; pravaktavyam - to be told; na - not;
kasyacit - of anyone.
My child, I have thus spoken to you the personification of all mantras. Out of affection I told it to you, but it should not be repeated to anyone.

guru-pujam vidhayatha
grhniyat kavacam tatah
sarva-punya-yuto bhutva
sarva-siddhi-yuto bhavet
guru-pujam - worship of the spiritual master; vidhaya - performing; atha - then; grhniyat - one should accept; kavacam - the kavaca; tatah - then; sarva-punya-yutah - endowed with all piety; bhutva - becoming; sarva-siddhi-yutah - endowed with all perfections; bhavet - may become.
After worshiping his spiritual master, one should accept this kavaca. Then one attains all piety. Then one attains all perfection.

catam astottaram caiva
puraccarya vidhih smrtah
havanadin dacamcena
krtva sadhaka-sattamah
catam astottaram - 108; ca - also; eva - indeed; puraccarya - purificatory rituals; vidhih - rules; smrtah - considered; havana - with yajnas; adin - beginning; dacamcena - with a tenth part; krtva - doing; sadhaka-sattamah - the best of saintly persons.
Performing puraccarya and yajYas a hundred and eight times is equal to one tenth the merit attained by chanting this kavaca.

tatas tu siddha-kavacah
punyatma madanopamam
spardham uddhuya bhavane
laksmir vani vaset tatah
tatah - then; tu - indeed; siddha-kavacah - the perfect kavaca; punyatma - a saintly person; madana - intoxication; upamam - like; spardham - rivalry; uddhuya - rejecting; bhavane - in the home; laksmih - Laksmi; vani - Sarasvati; vaset - resides; tatah - then.
One who properly chants this kavaca becomes saintly. Forgetting their natural rivalry, Laksmi and Sarasvati both
reside in his home.

puspanjaly-astakam dattva
mulenaiva pathet sakrt
api varsa-sahasranam
pujayah phalam apnuyat
puspaYjaly-astakam - eigth handsful of flowers; dattva - placing; mulena - with the mul-amantra; eva - indeed; pathet - should recite; sakrt - once; api - even; varsa-sahasranam - of a thousand years; pujayah - of worship; phalam - the result; apnuyat - attains.
Offering eight palmsful of flowers and only once chanting this mula-mantra, one attains the result of a thousand years of worship.

bhurje vilikhya gutikam
svarna-stham dharayed yadi
kanthe va daksine bahau
narasimho bhavet svayam
bhurje - on birch; vilikhya - writing; gutikam - an amulet; svarna-stham - golden; dharayet - wears; yadi - if; kanthe - on the neck; va - or; daksine - on the right; bahau - arm; narasimhah - Lord Nrsimha; bhavet - will be; svayam - personally.
If one writes this mantra on birch and wears in in an amulet around one's neck or on one's right arm, then Lord Nrsimha will personally accompany him.

yosid vama-bhuje caiva
puruso daksine kare
vibhryat kavacam punyam
sarva-siddhi-yuto bhavet
yosit - a woman; vama-bhuje - onm the left arm; ca - and; eva - indeed; purusah - a man; daksine - onm the right; kare - hand; vibhryat - should wear; kavacam - kavaca; punyam - sacred; sarva- siddhi-yutah - endowed with all perfection; bhavet - will become.
A woman should wear this amulet on her left arm. A man should wear it on his right hand. Whoever wears this sacred amulet attains all perfections.

kaka-vandhya ca ya nari
mrta-vatsa ca ya bhavet
janma-vandhya nasta-putra
bahu-putravati bhavet
kaka-vandhya - who has only one child; ca - and; ya - who; nari - a woman; mrta-vatsa - whose childred are dead; ca - and; ya - who; bhavet - may be; janma-vandhya - who is barren; nasta-putra - whose sons are lost; bahu-putravati - the mother of many sons; bhavet - may be.
By wearing this amulet a woman who is barren, who has only one child, whose children have died, or whose children are lost will become of the mother of many good children.

kavacasya prasadena
jivan-mukto bhaven narah
trailokyam ksobhayaty eva
trailokya-vijayi bhavet
kavacasya - of the kavaca; prasadena - by the mercy; jivan- muktah - liberated while living in this world; bhavet - becomes; narah - a person; trailokyam - the three worlds; ksobhayati - shakes; eva - certainly; trailokya-vijayi - a conqueror of the three worlds; bhavet - becomes.
By the mercy of this kavaca one becomes liberated even while living in this world. One shakes the three worlds. One conquers the three worlds.

bhuta-preta-picacac ca
raksasa danavac ca ye
tam drstva prapalayante
decad decantaram dhruvam
bhuta-preta-picacah - bhutas, pretas, and picacas; ca - and; raksasa - raksasas; danavah - danavas; ca - and; ye - who; tam - him; drstva - seeing; prapalayante - flee; decat - from that place; decantaram - to another country; dhruvam - indeed.
The moment they see him, bhutas, pretas, picacas, raksasas, and danavas flee far away. They run to another
country.

yasmin gehe ca kavacam
grame va yadi tisthati
tam decam tu parityajya
prayanti cati-duratah
yasmin - in which; gehe - home; ca - and; kavacam - kavaca; grame - in the village; va - or; yadi - if; tisthati - stays; tam - that; decam - country; tu - indeed; parityajya - leaving; prayanti - go; ca - also; ati-duratah - far away.
These evil spirits flee far away from any home or village where this kavaca is placed.
