kåñëeti-näda-gambhéra ürjasvé su prakértitaù

 

sadä= always, prema-rasa= the nectar of love, ämoda= happiness, mada= wild, mudrita= marked, locanaù= eyes, kåñëeti-näda= the sound of Kåñëa, gambhéra= deep, ürjasvé = Ürjasvé, sa= he, prakértitaù= named.

 

The gopa named Ürjasvé chants the name Kåñëa in a deep voice.  His eyes are wild with the nectar of eternal love.

kåñëa-prema-rasonmattaù kåñëa-huëkåti-vihvalaùpulakävali-saàsaktaù subhaprasthaù prakértitaù

 

kåñëa-prema-rasonmattaù= intoxicated by drinking the nectar of love for Lord Kåñëa, kåñëa-huëkåta-vihvalaù= agitated by calling out Lord Kåñëa’s name, pulakävali-saàsaktaù= the hairs of his body erect, çubhaprasthaù= Çubhaprastha, prakértitah= named.

 

The gopa named Çubhaprastha is intoxicated by drinking the nectar of love for Lord Kåñëa.  He loudly calls out Lord Kåñëa’s holy name.  The hairs of his body stand erect in ecstasy.

kåñëa-prema-madonmädaù prema-väri-samanvitaù

vaivarëya-valitäkäro vinodé su prakiértitaù

 

kåñëa-prema-madonmädaù= mad with love for Lord Kåñëa , prema-

väri-samanvitaù= filled with tears of love, vaivarëya-valitäkäro= pale complexion, vinodé= Vinodé, sa= he, prakértitaù= named.

 

The gopa named Vinodé has a pale complexion.  His eyes are filled with tears.  He is intoxicated with love for Lord Kåñëa.

govinda-darçanämoda-mada-mudita-locanaù

pulakäkorëa-gauräìgo varüthapaù prakértitaù

 

govinda-darçana= the sight of Lord Kåñëa, ämoda= happiness, mada= wild, mudita= marked, locanaù= eyes, pulakäkorëa= hairs erect, gauräìgo= fair limbs, varüthapaù =Varüthapa, prakértitaù= named.

 

The gopa named Varüthapa has a fair complexion, bodily hairs that stand erect in ecstasy, and eyes that become wild with happiness when he sees Lord Kåñëa.

rasikas ca madändhas ca prema-raìgädayas tathä

agamya-mahimäna te sarve-kåñëa samopamäù

 

rasikas= expert at tasting nectar, ca= and, madändhas= blinded with happiness, ca= and, prema-raìgädayas= filled with the happiness of love, tathä= so, agamya= unattainable, mahimänas= glories, te= they, sarve= all, kåñëa-samopamäù= like Lord Kåñëa Himself.

 

The gopas are expert at tasting nectar, filled with ecstatic love, and blind with wild happiness.  Filled with indescribable glories, they are like Lord Kåñëa Himself.

Nectar of the day!

 

kadä våndäranye vimala-yamunä-téra püline

carantaà Çré govindam haladhara-sudämädi-sahitaà

aye kåñëa swämin madhura-murali-vaadana vibho!

praseedetyaa krosan nimisam-iva-neshyaami divasaan

 

O Beautiful Govinda! When will I see you in the forest of Vrndavana enjoying wandering on the clear purifying sandy banks of the Yamunaa, herding the cows with Haladhara, Sudaama and other boys.

 

" Crying out in anticipation, 'Alas! O Krsna, O Master, You sweet flute player! When will that time come, when you will be pleased by my calling out plaintively to you and I will see such a vision, I shall accept a moment [of that vision] as

lasting for many days."

 

In this translation I have changed the syntax (as is permissable in verse),

to "nimisam divasaan iva neshyaami" - "A moment like days I shall take".

 

"neshyaami" means, "I shall take". If we were to follow the syntax of this

verse, then we would really have him say, "I shall take the days to be like

a moment." We could keep this syntax and propose that he meant to say, "In

Your absence, I wish the days could pass just like a moment until I would

see You again."

 

Or, similar to the comment below, he remembers how it was in the past and

hopes that it will be like that again, "Again I shall take the days just

like a moment."

The devotee who gave me this verse told me that in the commentary of bhaktamala, the acharya's comment, "neshyaami means (we shall take)-one day to be like a chaturyuga.

 

Previously I played with you for many days, but it was so nice, the time (nimisam) went so fast. Now in separation from You, we are (taking the days) to be like burning in chaturyugas, so, when will we see your smiling face again and again, if only for a moment?"

 

PURPORT

This verse is found in the Bhakti-rasämåta-sindhu (2.1.62).

 

Çrémad Bhägavatam 10.18.30

 

dåñövä pralambaà nihataù balena bala-çälinä

 gopäù su-vismitä äsan  sädhu sädhv iti vädinaù

SYNONYMS

dåñvä—seeing; pralambam—Pralambäsura; nihatam—killed; balena—by Lord Balaräma; bala-çälinä—who is by nature very powerful; gopäù—the cowherd boys; su-vismitäù—most astonished; äsan—became; sädhu sädhu—“very wonderful, very wonderful”; iti—these words; vädinaù—speaking.

TRANSLATION

The cowherd boys were most astonished to see how the powerful Balaräma had killed the demon Pralamba, and they exclaimed, “Excellent! Excellent!

 

Çrémad Bhägavatam 10.18.31

 

äçiño ‘bhigåëantas taà praçaçaàsus tad-arhäëam

pretyägatam iväliìgya prema-vihvala-cetasaù

SYNONYMS

äçiño —benedictions; ‘bhigåëantas —offering profusely; tam—to Him; praçaçaàsus —they praised; tat-arhaëam—Him who was worthy of such; pretya—having died; ägatam—come back; iva—as if; äliìgya—embracing; prema—out of love; vihvala—overwhelmed; cetasaù—their minds.

TRANSLATION

They offered Balaräma profuse benedictions and then glorified Him, who deserves all glorification. Their minds overwhelmed with ecstatic love, they embraced Him as if He had come back from the dead.
