PREPARATION FOR YEAR 2000

 

I. RESPOSIBILITIES: Refers to the number of individuals and/or social structucures, the decision maker has to take into account:

            1)Self

            2)Family

            3)Extended family and valued others, e.g. friends, spititual associates, busniness associates et.al.

            4)Temples(Churches) businesses and similar social groupings

            5)Zones, or clusters of any of the above

            6) Society Wide

Any of these subsequent groupings, after 1) can include any or all of the preceding catagories.  Concomitant with the enumerated, cited above, is the INTERFACES that results with the following items:

 

II.  SURVIVAL BASICS: Refers for the "things" needed for basic survival:

            1) Food, nutrition, water, (needed) medicines, shelter,clothing.

(An example of an INTERFACE here would be that an individual need not,

necessarily, have to consider any additional items)

             A.How/what, to keep and preserve, like cannning, freeze

drying,cellaring; water containers-like one Gal= 55 Gal drums, purifying...

             B.Protecting from pest and marauders.

        2) Personal and communal Hygiene, e.g. where/how to take a poop?

                        (Maybe no flush toilets!)

 

III.ENERGY NEEDS:  For heating, lighting, cooking and cooling.

            1) What to do if the Power Copanies go "offline"

 

IV.LOCATION :Where do you want to be-India,USA,farm project, city?-and in what kind of climate.  (If any problems happen in a cold climate, you had better be prepare with warm clothing, heating and shelter)

 

V.TRANSPORTATION: How will you get from place to place especially if all the cars are backed up on the roads. (There might arise a growth industry for bullock carts and horses; feed)

            1)Fuel for car, trucks...

 

VI.COMMUNICATIONS: How do we stay in touch; The Net may "crash"

 

VII. LAXMI,VALUABLES:Do you want your money in a bank, or liquid, in the form of gold or other "valuables" or other (bartable) commodities; what?

Where to put and how to protect, get at it?  What if the Banks close down?

 

VIII.PROTECTION: What to do to protect "valuables", your shelter, assets?

 

IX.POLICY:What should the communities, temples, or farms, e.g.NV, do and under what rules and regulation, if non-resident devotees, or the "laity, want to reside there for a  period? How long?

            1)Education

            2)Parenting,Children

 

X.IMPACT ANALYSIS: How will all of the preceding elements relate to Health, the Commonweal, and VAD, like our occupations and duties, particularly the efect on preaching (The ESSENCE) . What can we do to maximy + outcomes?

            1)Scenarios: What should be done, given different Y2K effects

             A.Short Term/Long Term

 

XI.RESOURCES :What do we need, how much? What is essential for the price?

            1)Examples of this include generators, water storage or purification systems, Porta-Potties, , food storage containers Ham radios for communications, walkie-talkies, required medications( insulin

dependent diabetics better have  supply, or access, for insulin.

 

This is just my cursory analysis; it is hoped it serves as a phillip for further constructive  thinking and planning.
