Markandeya Rsi

Once  Markandeya Rsi visited King Vajra the great-grandson  of  Krsna who was at that time the Emperor in Mathura. Vajra received  Markandeya  Rsi  very  nicely and then started  asking  him  many  questions about Lord Krsna and the creation. Markandeya Rsi has a  very  long life, he has been through many creations and  destruc tions.  One of the questions was, "if the number of living  enti ties  in  this kalpa is the same as in the previous  kalpa,  then  what this means? Does this mean that in the all kalpa no body got  liberation?  Because  even  if in every kalpa   only  one  person  becomes  liberated,  by now nobody should be here  because  there  have  been  unlimited  kalpas. The material  world  would  become  vacant."

Markandeya  Rsi gave the following answer, "The Lord  has  acintya- sakti  so  when one person get liberation the  Lord  supplies  another  living  entity.  All the inhabitants of Brahmaloka  they  will  attain  liberation  with  Lord Brahma. They are the living entities  who  have  followed the gradual process of liberation going from earth to  heaven  and  then  to brahamaloka. They stay in brahmaloka until  the  end  of  Brahma's  life.  When Brahma dies everyone get liberation  along  with  him. So many person reside in brahmaloka and if everyone gets  libera tion in the end of Brahma so there should be lesser and lesser  living  entities in this universe. But that is not the case, the Lord has  His  inconceivable power and He supplies other living entities to fill  the  gap. The Lord revives the karma of other living entities."

A question may be raised, "where do they come from?"    The answer, "if one studies mathematics he learns that if something  is added or subtracted to infinite, it remains infinite. This is  true  specially  in  the  spiritual level. Krsna possesses  three  types  of  energies,  internal, external and marginal and all of them  are  infi nite. So if the material universes would be vacant one time then there  would  not  be material creation because this material world  is  only  created for the conditioned jivas. If everyone becomes liberated  then  there  will be no more living entities here and also will be  no  more  material  world.  Without the marginal and the external  energies  the  Lord  would have only the internal potency. This is not  possible  be cause  this would mean that the Lord is limited. Because the  Lord  is  unlimited He has unlimited energies, including unlimited living  enti ties and therefore there will be never a time that this material world  will become empty of jivas no matter how many get liberation in  every  kalpa. No matter how many living entities are liberated there will  be  always an infinite number of living entities.    If  one  accepts  that one time these material  universes  will  be  vacant then this will give raise to two defects in the philosophy. One  is  to accept that which is not desirable and the other is to give  up  which  is desirable. One has to accept that the Lord's material  world  and  energies will come to an end - that is the undesirable fact.  And  one has to accept that this had a beginning
